The general structure of the article.

Students should brainstorm more opinions on the aspect of “why” and “how.”

Difficult points:

How to apply expression of reasons and solutions into their own life.

How to cultivate the awareness of protecting the environment in their daily life.

Teaching procedures:

Step 1 Warm-up and Lead-in

1.Daily greeting.

2.Show some pictures.

Show students some pictures about their daily life, such as the canteen, classroom and the school gate.

Ask them one question: “ how do you feel”?

Step 2 Pre-writing

1. Show a video which shows a 50-year old cleaner cleaning the road while a young man is throwing sunflower seeds. Lead them to think : Lacking public awareness is one of the reasons that caused the pollution problems, and what else?

2. Ask students about some solutions to protect the environment, in response to each of the reasons listed above.

Step 3 While-writing

1.Write an article

15 minutes would be given to them to complete the article within 100 words individually.

2.Offer necessary help

Ask students to pay attention to the grammar, punctuation, spelling and the logic.

Step 4 post-writing

1.Editing: ask students to check their article according to the structure and the attentions and exchange their article with their desk mates.

2.Share: invite some students to share their article before the class by the hot potato game.

Step 5 Summary & Homework

Summary: Review what was learned in the lesson by asking questions.

Homework: Ask students to polish their article and hand it to the teacher tomorrow.
